I've been working hard...

Hello awesome people,

I've made a few outfits in the last few weeks that I would love to share with you... I've been busy busy busy... which is partly why I havent been here to write a post in a while (please forgive me) do let me know what you think of these outfits.

I've had some amazing feedback about them already...

Simple and Elegant - We remain Amazing

A friend of mine got married last Saturday - it was a fabulous wedding.... awesome food... a rich diverse amazingly turned out crowd and a fun couple who did a special dance thats probably on youtube now... even the bridesmaids did a dance... yeah they were "Running the World" .. thanks Beyonce!

To this wedding I wore another one of my designs by Esteri.. hope you love it as much as I do.... I enjoyed every minute of making this and its probably going to end up in our store here

My Dabble into Crochet

For a few months I didnt have a working sewing machine and it was killing me.

All my sewing machines decided to go  on holiday to the repairers forever and I just had loads and loads of sketches and projects and no machine to do them with. It felt like my creativity was dying within me! so what did this Esterist do?

I decided to dabble into crochet - firstly I ordered 12 crochet hooks across sizes

Then I visited John Lewis and spent hours pawing and caressing knitting/crochet yarns before deciding to buy the most amazing yarn - I bought four packs of this

Then I progressed to learn how to crochet! online - I read notes and watched videos - I do previously know how to make a crochet chain so I was building on that.

And then my projects started.

I made this beautiful bed shoes

Then I started on this baby dress (yeah someone is getting broody!!!)

and the finished work looks like this

Then I made a headband for Miss Bionic, my friend's amazing daughter

A scarf for myself, everytime I wear it I feel so fly- and also a cap for my friend's uber cute son!

I'm running out of that amazing yarn - which is all well and good ....So many things have been made from it already!  next stop will be a single colour not so bright yarn...

Okay so that is my dabble into crochet so far - I dont think I'm stopping though!

Of Toys and Skirts

Last week I got a new toy!

A Janome 525S Sewist - yes a sewing machine and it sews like a dream.

This seemingly docile thing is a fantastic magical piece of machinery.

It is so so easy to use - if you are a beginner sewist with a bit of cash- definitely go for this machine.

Although its not a beginner's machine, its one that wont daunt you.

For me, its the perfect machine for someone who is constantly sewing! My Janome baby makes button holes in one step, threads with the ease of light and sound; the automatic threader sure helps! it glides through fabric even denim and leather and it has 24 different stitches for me to choose from - each one of them uber-gorgeous. Most importantly it goes on and on for hours on end.

The first thing I made with my sewing machine was a sample patch skirt which is going into the 2012 summer collection - here goes

First Ladies: Michelle Obama vs Samantha Cameron - and the Style win goes to....

Who is the better dressed of this two Leaders?  *coughs* surely you know the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world...  so who is the better styled of these powerful fashion icons?

Samantha and Michelle, Frocking it in Blue - they both look fantastic

Colour blocking Samantha and Pastel Michelle - I'm thinking Samantha has won this round

As much as I love Michelle's cardigan, I think Samantha's chic look and fit pants win this round again!

The war of the Little black dress - and the way the dress accentuates her curves tells me this is Michelle's round

While Michelle looks intent on a workout, Sam looks like she works in Home and Garden... no Sam, Michelle wins this round 

Michelle in this picture doesnt just look amazing, she deals Samantha a deadly blow with her amazing blow dry and accessories! Samantha you are not trying!

And Samantha recovers with this edgy print skirt! woohoooooo

Michelle looks amazing in this stripey number. Samantha, is that David's cardi? 

As much as I love the brightness of Sam's raspberry cardigan, Michelle wins me over with that jazzy button up

Samantha wins with this understated elegant midnight blue number! Michelle's dress looks like its trying a little too hard

First ladies working the Volunteer look - thumbs up for rocking the Canvas ladies... but Michelle strikes the right mix of feminine and sporty 

Michelle's crystal studded gown is the "ish" what else can I say? Michelle wins again

And this one goes to Samantha! Sorry Michelle, the look is not sitting well on you

And lastly, Michelle claims the Style Win with this number

Now the above is my own rant opinion, what is yours? who do you think is the bigger style queen?

The whole of London is wearing....

Quilted Jackets.... this is what everyone is wearing now and not necessarily by Barbour. Every single store now sells these things in varying shapes and designs... I've even seen one with knitted sleeves at Topshop! *the horror of it*
Its not just that everyone is wearing it that is so irritating, cos its okay for everyone to love the same things but they are so obviously poorly made! I am sick of seeing poorly made quilted jackets!

However if you dont mind looking like a drone in an ant factory!

Skinny Jeans! *even I am guilty of this*  - I can only wonder what we wore before the advent of this horrible "show every bone in my legs" jeans?

And they now come in the craziest colours! (If you are in doubt - visit Topshop, River Island and the amazing Forever21 stores)

It gets better!!! - they also come in the craziest designs - yes you are looking at a leopard's face below the crotch!

The whole of London is also carrying these Zara Shopper bag!! If I got a pound for every time I saw one of these bags I wouldn't have to work! Zara has won the jackpot with this one!

The interesting thing is - this bag also comes in blue and the blue is gorgeous but I only ever see everyone with the black or the brown! *the death of creativity and uniqueness in this London has come*
